That said, if you’ve learned to parallel park relying on a camera view you won’t have in your daily car, and then you rent a vehicle that works differently, you can throw yourself off. The most useful approach is to practice with whatever vehicle setup you’re going to use on test day, so there are no surprises.
How far in advance should you book the rental?
Book as early as you can after you have your road test date. Available rental slots at a driving school are finite, and test dates in the West Island, particularly at the Dorval exam location, can fill up with lead time.
