Driving Course Pricing in Montreal: What You Should Expect to Pay
Before we get to our prices, let’s talk about the industry.
Driving school pricing in Quebec is not always clear. Some schools advertise low entry rates and then add fees for each phase of the program. Others charge significantly more for students who need extra support — including newcomers and immigrants who are navigating Quebec’s licensing system for the first time. We think that’s wrong.
At École Unity, we publish our real prices. Every program. Every payment option. No surprises at the checkout.
What the SAAQ-Approved Program Includes
Before comparing prices, make sure you’re comparing the same thing. A complete SAAQ-approved driving course in Quebec includes:
- 24 hours of theory (classroom or online instruction covering all SAAQ knowledge test content)
- 15 hours of in-car practice (supervised road training with a certified instructor)
- SAAQ-approved certification upon completion
Some schools sell these components separately (“by phase”), which can end up costing significantly more. We offer the complete program as a bundle.

Why don’t we list exact dollar amounts here? Prices change with SAAQ requirements and program updates, and we never want you to find a discrepancy between this page and what you’re quoted. We believe in complete transparency — which is why we give you exact numbers when you talk to us directly, not estimates that may be out of date.
Payment Options
We know that driving school is an investment, and not everyone can pay the full amount upfront. That’s why we offer installment payment options — because getting your licence shouldn’t depend on your ability to pay everything at once.
Ask us about installment plans when you reach out. We’ll walk you through what’s available without pressure.
What We Won’t Do
We want to be direct about this:
- We will not charge you extra because you’re a newcomer or immigrant. Some schools take advantage of the fact that new arrivals don’t yet know what’s standard in Quebec. We don’t.
- We will not hide fees until you’re already enrolled. What you’re quoted is what you pay.
- We will not upsell you to services you don’t need. We’ll tell you exactly what the SAAQ requires and what’s genuinely helpful.
